Review: Their coming! Their coming! words are said Tippi Hedren in late attractions trailer for Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 film The Birds. And boy came when the film opened. This is a scary story about what could happen if our fine feathered friends in person. Birds such as the Master suspension, the 1960 masterpiece Psycho, has the ability to give people the chills. I found The Birds of something less than Psycho (starts a little slow), but it's still pretty scary movie. It has great acting by Tippi Hedren (in his most famous role), Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy (26 for Driving Miss Daisy), Suzanne Pleshette and Veronica Cartwright (Alien 16 years). Plus has impressive visual effects, and probably the scariest sound I've ever heard. Just the sound of gives me the creeps. And it has its share of humorous moments throughout. The Birds is a classic Hitchcock. If you like horror movies made with well-told stories, then youll like this. *** Half (four) |
