Pam and Duncan outsiders in this beach community that we learn quickly when neighbor Betty (Allison Janney) shows with drink in hand and for all.The gossip and movie characters are wearing all here ... we recognize the characters and their struggles, actually , we all know someone like each of the people who co-writer and co-director trades Nat Faxon and Jim Rash moment for us. We understand quickly that this is a coming-of-age story with mostly clueless adults. Despite this, however, is done. The writing and acting is so good that even though we live in movie clich? Land, yet we find ourselves caring for Duncan and Pam, laughing at Owen, and throw tomatoes at Trent (Carell). Special tribute to Sam Rockwell.
